Focus on Student Parents: Juggling Academic and Family Demands

Are you a student juggling both academic and family demands? Managing time and finding a work-life balance is a challenge for most students, but especially for community college transfer students with children. This workshop will present strategies for navigating both aspects of your life. It will also introduce you to university and community resources to help you ease the tension between the two. This program is open to all students, and undergraduate community college transfer students, and those considering a transfer from a community college are encouraged to attend. Registration is required, and space is limited.

The University of Michigan can seem challenging for those who want to build support networks, make contacts, or discover campus resources. Don't wait until your last semester to find study partners, professional references, or job leads! This program teaches networking strategies for meeting with faculty, staff, and other students. Registration is required, and space is limited.

Multicultural Communications & Academic Success

Learn cross-cultural communication skills and strategies to facilitate your academic success. This workshop will focus on establishing effective working relationships with your peers, advisors, and professors without compromising your ethnic and cultural background, as well as advocating for your needs in a challenging and diverse academic environment. Students of color and international students who have transferred from a community college or are contemplating a transfer are encouraged to attend this session. Registration is required, and space is limited.
